delivery by foot

If you saw a family of four walking on a Toronto street the other night, baby on the dad's chest, mom and dad each holding one handle of a massive green trunk, and the 5 year old daughter carrying a large bag of take-out food, that was us. Let's just say it's our idea of a family outing.

When Sadie was a baby we carried a whole desk home by foot. At least this trunk was lighter, and now our files are happily hidden away. I'd have to say that three thrift shops within walking distance has served us well.

What a great score!
I once carried a huge old typewriter home.. 30 mins away from the op shop! And also, my overlocker home from the sewing store (in its huge box, a whole 25 mins away!). And helped a friend carrying a bookshelf about the same distance too.
There's something very satisfying about carrying your loot home, parading it for all to see. (or maybe I was a pirate in a past life?)

Oh, and while I'm rambling, I love that you have a whole collection of ducks/birds!

Love it - reminds me of the trunk I took to university.

@RhiannonI have to give Jay credit for the birds - he's been collecting them for over a decade now. When we made those shelves, we made the one that they're on just the right height for them all. Talk about caring a bit too much for your collections!

The best part is when they all get a bath - each one makes a different sound and it's like music as they bonk each other in the water. Sadie thinks it's the best thing ever!
