I officially work full-time now. Sadie has adjusted to life without me marvellously. . . but I'm another story entirely. Sure, a happy, curious close-to-one-year-old is exactly what I wished for, but my heart would feel a wee bit better if she lit up when I walk through the door after nine gruelling hours of seperation.
Sigh. I'm sure I'll get over it in time.
I just want to say that Sadie is beautiful! The first time I saw her picture on your site, I didn't think she was real. She looked like a doll...so perfect.
ReplyDeleteOK - so totally gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI totally know how you feel - sorta. Even when I left Nate for a few dyas while moving, he was not the least bit over-joyed when I finally showed up. Not until I whipped out the boob at least.
Hang in there.
samantha, sadie gets more beautiful in every photo..
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - look at those cheeks! No wonder you have seperation anxiety. What a beautiful little girl.
ReplyDeleteHey there,
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog, but just wanted to add my words of commiseration on the whole separation thing. Leaving them behnd to work sucks sucks sucks. My daughter is two and a half, has been at daycare for over a year now, and I still feel crappy sometimes when I say goodbye in the mornings. Of course, there are also other times where I relish the cup of coffee I get to sip slowly, uninterrupted :) Hang in there.
Samantha ,
ReplyDeleteI know how hard it is to say bye to these beautiful little things each morning. The worst part of this is that during the week I barely see my daughter at all since my mom puts her to bed at 7pm. And when I finally have a chance to take a long look at her on the weekend - she looks different! Each weekend she looks different! Just like Sadie on the photos you post. Each time I see her she looks more grown up, more aware, more independent...more ....a girl.
But I know the facts of life and I'm sure that all I can do is to try to do the best each day.
I'm not perfect but I consider our little family as a blessed one ( don't worry I'm not religious). My daughter Bronte has a great grandma, 100% committed mom and a great health (thankfully) ( and she's pretty cute too-I'll post some photos, once I figure out how).
Samantha, take this as you may, by I'm a firm believer in the fact that, as hard as it is now,my future relationship with my daughter is secure because Bronte will always know hat her mom is sluuging it out there, in the real world (..of MEN) in order to make her life better. It's as simple as that!
(plus you have a better chance to meet a cute guy at your lunch break then a play date)
Love your website (blog?).
I hope I haven't rambled on too much...if so...sorry.
